India Needs More Educational NGOs like Tarang

Tarang is a highly dedicated educational NGO in India. They provide free education to the slum children of Mumbai. Tarang welcomes financial assistance from its well wishers to support its projects.

(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 29, 2010 ) Mumbai, India - Though India is making very fast strides in various areas, there is one area that it has to work hard to change - the prevailing poverty level. Poverty has far reaching effects on the society. One of the factors that it affects is the literacy rate of the country. Some of the states in India have very good literacy rate where as others are still backward. Even those parts of India with very good literacy rate have still room for improvement. There are millions of people in India without basic education, and there are people who cannot even spell or sign their names. The government of India is sponsoring a number of programs but these programs are not sufficient to reach the masses in the remote parts of the country. To fill this gap, there are many social service organizations in India. These social service organizations in India provide slum education free of cost.
Every educational NGO in India faces a stiff challenge in getting the cooperation of the people as parents from poor families do not want their children to go to schools. They instead send their children to work. Going to school means less income for the family. So there is lack of cooperation from the people. So educational NGOs in India like Tarang have to struggle hard to create awareness among people about the importance of education and how education can give them better lives.
Social service in India is not an easy proposition - especially those social service organizations that try to educate the children in the slums of Mumbai. These organizations have to work hard to implement their projects. Added to these, educational NGOs in India also need lot of financial support to help with the cost of running educational projects in Mumbai, India. Mumbai being a metropolitan city, it is a very expensive. It is hard and for social welfare programs to be successful. A lot of financial support is required.
