(EMAILWIRE.COM, April 28, 2010 ) New York, NY - High-tech start-up company Wix.com designed a unique and powerful website building platform for the quick and easy creation of Flash websites. With Wix, internet users can create a free website simply by registering with a user name and e-mail address. The company has successfully grown since its inception in 2005 to include a user-base of over 3.5 million users with free website accounts. The company is now exhibiting a collection of the most impressive websites created with the Wix builder.

This collection of websites is known as the "The Wix of the Day Archive", and is an expansion of the company's daily "Wix of the Day" competition. Every day, a different website created with Wix is featured on the Wix.com homepage, along with a short description of the design elements used with Wix's website builder, to create that particular site. Websites of every category are eligible to be recognized as a Wix of the Day, including business, musician, photography, artist and personal websites.

Now, websites that have been chosen as the Wix of the Day, dating back to January of this year, are available for viewing in the Wix of the Day Archive. The collection can be accessed through a link on Wix's "How To" page. Access to the archive is unrestricted, and anyone can scroll through the entire Wix of the Day collection, posted in chronological order by the date that each Flash website had its début on Wix.com. This is an extremely convenient means of gaining inspiration for one's own website creations.

For a Wix website to be selected as a Wix of the Day, Wix users submit their site URL to wixofday@wix.com, where it is assessed by the Wix Design Studio. Websites are chosen based on a combination of factors including visual appeal and incorporation of the design elements offered by Wix. Sites that include photo galleries, widgets such as the contact form or the music player widget, and other Flash design elements are most favorably represented. The goal of the project is to demonstrate just how enormous the possibilities of web design are, with Wix's technology.
