Pro Fighting Fans Covers Hard Rock MMA Turfway
MMA news site Pro Fighting Fans to feature live coverage of Hard Rock MMA Turfway on Saturday, April 24
(EMAILWIRE.COM, April 23, 2010 ) Cincinnati, OH - ProFighting-fans.com, one of the leading online sources for MMA news and everything in the world of professional mixed martial arts, is pleased to announce that our very own Editor-in-Chief, Scott Dryden, will be providing a live blog with round-by-round updates, commentary, and official results of the upcoming Hard Rock MMA event this Saturday night on our MMA blog.
Hard Rock MMA, a regional show featuring some of the best Midwestern professional and amateur fighters, will be returning to Turfway Park in Florence, Kentucky this Saturday night with 15 professional and amateur MMA bouts. The doors open at 6pm with the first fight of the night kicking off at 8pm.
In addition to a bevy of compelling undercard amateur bouts, which feature some of the top unsigned fighters on the local circuit, Hard Rock MMA at Turfway Park will also feature a slough of competitive and evenly-matched professional bouts, including a fight for the Hard Rock MMA Featherweight Championship when Joe Maiani takes on David Bernas.
Although Bernas has yet to fight in an officially sanctioned MMA bout, he has already compiled 2 impressive victories in his professional career to date, defeating both of his opponents in the first round. Standing across from Bernas and also with his mind firmly set on claiming the featherweight strap will be Maiani, a fighter with a 4-2 professional record including four finishes to his credit, all of them also in the first round.
In addition to the featherweight title tilt, Hard Rock MMA will feature bouts between local up and coming talent such as George Oiler vs. Josh Clark—both of whom are undefeated at 2-0—as well as a women’s bout between undefeated prospects Marissa Caldwell and Heather Corder, and a heavyweight battle pitting Chris Smith against Joshua Franklin.
Hard Rock MMA at Turfway Park might not boast any familiar names to the average MMA fans, but local Midwestern shows are known to produce some of the biggest stars in the sport. Instead of waiting for these fighters to burst onto the mainstream MMA scene within the next five years, follow our own Scott Dryden on the official ProFighting-fans.com blog in order to get the low-down on all of the top prospects on the card.
In addition to our coverage of some of the best regional and mainstream MMA events in the country, ProFighting-fans is also known for its experienced and passionate team of MMA correspondents, all of whom devote their time to bringing fans some of the most comprehensive interviews, previews, and reviews in the business.
