The company announced that its Board of Directors has declared a special dividend of $1 per share and has authorized a $200 million share repurchase program. The special dividend will be paid on April 19, 2010 to shareholders of record at the close of business on April 5, 2010.
Genpact Limited (NYSE:G) declined 6.70% to $14.91 on 1.81 million shares after the company said that certain holders would offer 28 million common shares to the public. The holders, which include affiliates of GE, Wells Fargo, Oak Hill Capital Partners and General Atlantic, gave the underwriters an option on 4.2 million more shares.
Starbucks Corporation (NASDAQ:SBUX) added 3.56% to $25.29 on 16.90 million shares. UBS upgraded Starbucks to buy from neutral and raised its earnings forecasts, citing higher sales, benign costs and the company's ongoing productivity programs. UBS lifted its fiscal 2010 earnings estimate to $1.14 a share from $1.09 a share and its fiscal 2011 forecast to $1.34 a share from $1.27 a share.
