Chordiant Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:CHRD) spurted 30.71% to $4.98. Pegasystems Inc. and Chordiant Software, Inc. announced they have entered into a definitive agreement for Pegasystems to acquire Chordiant. Under the terms of the agreement, Pegasystems will make a cash tender offer of $5.00 per share for all outstanding shares of Chordiant common stock for a total purchase price of up to approximately $161.5 million, assuming all outstanding shares are tendered. Upon satisfaction of the conditions to the tender offer and after such time as all shares tendered in the tender offer are accepted for payment, the agreement provides for the parties to effect, subject to customary conditions, a merger to be completed following the completion of the tender offer which would result in all shares not tendered in the tender offer being converted into the right to receive $5.00 per share in cash. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals, and is expected to close in the second calendar quarter of 2010.
Oracle Corporation (NASDAQ:ORCL) zoomed 0.41% to $25.15 announced that it is expanding its on demand offerings to formalize solutions based on a suite of procurement applications, Oracle unveiled Oracle Procurement On Demand. "With this latest offering, customers can optimize their existing ERP investments by deploying Oracle Procurement On Demand in a smoothly functioning hybrid model," said Cliff Godwin, Senior Vice President of Applications Development, Oracle. "This helps procurement departments achieve rapid value while aligning with the platform standardization goals of the IT organization."
Citrix Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CTXS) soared 0.94% to $48.53. The stock today also touched a new 52 week high at $48.66. So far in the last six months trade the stock went up over 32%.
Novell, Inc. (NASDAQ:NOVL) climbed 0.87% over its previous day’s price and now trades at $5.77. The stock has a 52-week range of $3.52-$6.15. So far in this year the stock went up over 39%.
