The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 37 points to 10530 the Standard & Poor's 500 declined 4 points to 1141 and the Nasdaq Composite Index fell 4 points to 2355.
Devon Energy Corporation (NYSE:DVN) rose 1% to $72.41 after the company announced that that it has entered into agreements to sell all of its assets in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico, Azerbaijan, and Brazil to BP (NYSE:BP) for $7.0 billion.
The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA) trading almost flat after it announced that it has completed initial airworthiness testing on the 747-8 Freighter, allowing the remaining two 747-8 Freighter test airplanes to begin flight test.
Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) fell 0.71% to $21.04 in line with the market correction.
The Coca-Cola Company (NYSE:KO) also fell about 1% to $53.24. So far this year, the stock has fallen over 6.50%.
United Technologies Corporation (NYSE:UTX) fell 0.20% to $7 after it said late yesterday that its board authorized buying back up to 60 million shares of the company's common stock. The program, worth up to $4.3 billion at current prices, replaces a previous one that was near completion.
Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) is the biggest tech laggard and fell 1.13% to $16.60 after Benchmark downgraded its share to “Hold” from “Buy” with a target price of $18.
The Men's Wearhouse, Inc. (NYSE:MW) fell 4.25% to $23.78 after Retailer Men’s Wearhouse moved to a loss in its fiscal fourth quarter as clothing sales and tuxedo rentals fell from the year before, the company said on Wednesday.
Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. (NASDAQ:BBBY) fell 2.35% to $40.69 after the home-furnishings retailer was cut to underperform from market perform by FBR Capital Markets.
Synovus Financial Corp. (NYSE:SNV) jumped 8.30% to $3.14 after its Board of Directors has declared a dividend of $0.01 per share on the company’s common stock. The dividend will be payable on April 1, 2010 to shareholders of record as of March 18, 2010.
