US Friday’s Stocks Update.

After opening slightly up, it lost all of its gains and The DJIA fell as much as 50 points after Sales of previously owned U.S. homes unexpectedly declined in January for a second month, signaling the benefits from a government’s extension of a tax credit are being limited by lack of job growth.

On the other hand, The U.S. economy expanded at a 5.9 percent annual rate in the fourth quarter, more than the government reported last month, reflecting stronger business investment and a greater contribution from inventories.
However, stocks have recovered helped by gains among the commodities stocks. At last check, The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 7.50 points or $0.07%, S&P 500 INDEX and the NASDAQ Composite were trading flat.
The Gap Inc. (NYSE:GPS) is the top S&P’s top contributor and rose 6% to $21.60 after the company the posted a stronger than expected quarterly earnings and also provided a rosy outlook for the current fiscal year.
JDS Uniphase Corporation (NASDAQ:JDSU) is another top mover and jumped 3.21% to $10.59 after hitting a new 52-week high of $10.73 earlier. So far this year, the stock has jumped over 28%.
JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE:JPM) is top financial stock mover and jumped 3.32% to $41.99. today, various Brokerage firm have given a positive comments on the company following the company's investor day yesterday.
Eastman Kodak Company (NYSE:EK) rose 2.60% to $5.92 and Tenet Healthcare Corporation (NYSE:THC) surged 4% to $5.23.
Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:BRCD) jumped 2.12% to $5.79 on very high volume.
Losers :-
Shares of American International Group, Inc. (NYSE:AIG) have took a hit and now down over 8% to $25.25 after the company posted a wider than expected loss in the fourth-quarter.
Fluor Corporation (NEW) (NYSE:FLR) fell 6% to $42.40 after the posted a lower than expected earnings by 6 cents a share.
Palm, Inc. (NASDAQ:PALM) and Motorola, Inc. (NYSE:MOT) also fell after analysts at UNS downgraded the company’s share.
MetroPCS Communications, Inc. (NYSE:PCS) fell 4.50% to $6.20.
Sirius XM Radio Inc. (NASDAQ:SIRI) fell 6.50% to $1. So far this year, the stock has jumped over 66%.
