J. Crew Group, Inc. (NYSE:JCG) rose 1% to $41.21 after Brean Murray upgraded the company’s share to Buy form Hold with a price target of $50.

Lowe's Companies, Inc. (NYSE:LOW) rose 0.61% to $23.27 after its ’s net income rose to $205 million, or 14 cents a share, from $162 million, or 11 cents a share in the fourth-quarter. Sales also grew 1.8% to $10.2 billion. However, comparable sales fell 1.6%.The company projects profit of 27 - 29 cents a share in the current quarter and $1.30 to $1.42 a share for this fiscal year. Analysts were estimating a profit of 13 cents a share in the fourth quarter, 33 cents in the first quarter and $1.36 for the year, according to FactSet.
J.C. Penney Company, Inc. (NYSE:JCP) surged 0.50% to $27.82 analyst at Goldman Sachs raised its 2010 and 2011 EPS estimates for JCP to $1.55 and $1.80, respectively, citing lower pension costs. Goldman maintained its “Neutral” rating and $28 price target on the stock, which had closed at $27.66 on Friday.
Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE:JWN) also rose 1% to $36.05 ahead of its fourth-quarter earnings today after the closing ball and analysts are eyeing the company to report a profit of 79 cents a share on revenues of $2.53 billion.
