Emerging LA Band "The Reactives" Sharing Stage with Guitar Legend Tom Morello For “Music For Justice” Fast Support Concert

Progressive-Alternative Rockers "The Reactives" of Los Angeles, CA Sharing Stage with Tom Morello to Support Better Working Conditions at the Disney Hotel

The Reactives - Music For Justice Flyer

(EMAILWIRE.COM, February 09, 2010 ) LOS ANGELES, CA – Over the last few months, contractual disagreements, healthcare concerns and increased workloads resulting in employee injury, have forced workers at Disneyland's Resort to walk out and demand change. Beginning Feb. 9th, 15 hotel workers will begin their fast to illustrate the severity of the situation to the Disney Corporation.

Progressive rockers, “The Reactives” along with legendary guitarist, Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine and many others will aid in the workers’ plight by performing at “Music For Justice,” a concert organized by Unite Here on Saturday, February 13th at the Simba parking lot off Disneyland Drive. The show begins at 3pm and fans and supporters are encouraged to arrive early for this momentous event.

Playing to a sold-out crowd last month at the Viper Room, “The Reactives” recently released their debut self-titled album, and are receiving tremendous responses. They have been featured on local college radio LMU's KXLU, and are lighting up stages all over LA on and off the Sunset Strip.

“This is an honor and a privilege for us as we will be playing for a noble cause, and secondly, will be sharing the stage with an artist that helped inspire us to pick up music and be an agent for positive change,” says Gil Ramirez, lead guitarist and vocals of “The Reactives.”

“The Reactives” are known for their energetic and creative live performances and their fusion of various rock genres including; progressive, experimental and classic.

“Specifically, we really try to instigate mental imagery with our sounds evoking mental projection to real or imagined places.” Says the band, “[the song] Orbit, for example was a piece designed to take the listener on a journey through space/time and features backwards guitar and explosive sounds in the background all made by the guitar.”

Each song is different from the rest and ultimately they strive to allow the music to write itself, saying “It’s all about what fits the song rather than what we want to interject for any other reason.”

“The Reactives” line up includes founding brothers Gil and Alberto Ramirez on guitar/lead vocals and bass/backing vocals respectively, alongside David Garcia on drums. The trio will be rocking stages on and off the Sunset Strip throughout 2010, but fans should jump at this unique chance to experience “The Reactives” at the Music For Justice Fast Support Concert along with Tom Morello, Los Jornaleros, Son Jarocho (traditional music from Veracruz), Chad Sells (politically-conscious hip-hop), Anahuak Teotihuakan Aztec Dancers and Atabey (Puerto Rican Dance Group).
