Following were some of the stocks which were among the active stocks on S&P 500:-
Airgas, Inc. (NYSE:ARG) soared over 40% to end the session at $60.96 after Industrial-gas company Air Products & Chemicals Inc. made an unsolicited offer to acquire the company for about $5.1 billion in cash late Thursday
Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE:PBI) rose 5% to $22.36 after the company the company reported a stronger than expected fourth-quarterly results. It earned $98.6 millon, or 47 cents a share. Excluding items, the company earned 64 cents a share versus the estimations of 54 cents a share.
Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE:TSN) also moved up 4.72% after reported a larger-than-expected first quarter profit and expects better chicken demand and prices later this year.
Simon Property Group, Inc (NYSE:SPG) surged 5.50% to $73.30 after as its results easily topped Wall Street expectations.
However following stocks were among the top losers
Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) fell 3.50% to $18.91.
Air Products & Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD) plunged 7% to $68.64 after Air Products made an offer to acquire Airgas.

D.R. Horton, Inc. (NYSE:DHI) also plunged 4% to $12.67 after touching a low of $12.16.
