Staffing Stocks Rallied with Manpower (MAN, CITP, MWW, RHI)

(EMAILWIRE.COM, February 03, 2010 ) Dallas, Tx - Shares of various staffing agencies jumped after Manpower Inc. reported fourth-quarter results that topped analysts' expectations, and also company’s CEO commented that he is confident about the sustainability of an economic recovery.

COMSYS IT Partners, Inc. (NASDAQ:CITP) soared 31.50% to $17.39 on the news that Manpower (NYSE:MAN), agreed to acquire COMSYS IT Partners for a total enterprise value of $431 million.
Shares of Manpower Inc. (NYSE:MAN) also surged over 3.80% to $55.17 on an unusual volume. Manpower reported that its fourth quarter fell 62% from last year due to higher costs and lower revenue, but still topped the analysts’ estimates. The company posted fourth quarter net income of $29.1 million, or 37 cents per share, compared with $76 million, or 97 cents per share, in the year-ago period. Excluding one-time items, adjusted profit was 48 cents per share. Revenue also fell 4% from last year, to $4.4 billion. Wall Street analysts had been expecting profit of just 24 cents per share, on revenue of $4.16 billion. CEO, Jeffrey Joerres said revenue should start to grow in the first quarter for the first time since late 2008.
Monster Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE:MWW) gained 3% to $16.04 on higher volume.
Shares of Robert Half International Inc. (NYSE:RHI) added 45 cents or 1.67% to close at $27.32.
