Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM) soared 3% to close at $66.18 on high volume after the company posted a better-than-expected fourth-quarter earnings. The company reported net earnings of $6.05 billion or $1.27 per share, compared with $7.82 billion, or $1.54 per share in the same period of 2008, beating the analysts’ estimates of $1.17 a share. Company’s revenue also grew 6% to $89.80 from $84.70, while analysts’ were looking it to grow 1.80% to $86.19 billion.

ConocoPhillips (NYSE:COP) added $1.07 or 2.23% over the previous day’s closing and settled at $49.07. In the last six months the stock has jumped over 13%.
Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX), which missed earnings estimates on losses in its refining business on Friday, rose over 2% to $73.58. The stock was down 1.50% on Friday. In the last one year the stock has jumped over 4%.
BP plc (ADR) (NYSE:BP) also surged 2% to $57.23 and Statoil ASA(ADR) (NYSE:STO) closed at $22.91, up 2.46%.
