(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 22, 2010 ) The Hague - ICC-CPI-20100122-PR489 - On 20 January, 2010, following the swearing-in ceremony that marked the official taking of office of two newly elected judges, the International Criminal Court held a closed plenary session during which the new judges were assigned to the judicial divisions.


Judge Silvia Fernández de Gurmendi, from Argentina, joins the Pre-Trial division, while Judge Kuniko Ozaki, from Japan, was assigned to the Trial division.


The judges will decide at a later stage which Pre-Trial and Trial Chamber Judges Fernández de Gurmendi and Ozaki, respectively, will be part of.
