2010 Best and Worst Real Estate Market Forecasts

The annual best and worst 25 real estate market forecasts for 2010 have been issued by Housing Predictor, which forecasts markets in all 50 U.S. states.

(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 07, 2010 ) Destin, Florida -- The annual best and worst housing market forecasts for 2010 have been issued by Housing Predictor, which selects the 25 best and 25 worst real estate markets from the 250 markets it forecasts. The best and worst markets have the highest probability of reaching their forecasts, and are updated over the entire year as market conditions change.

More than three years ago Housing Predictor analysts were the first to forecast the foreclosure crisis and the real estate depression, long before the it became regular headline news. Since then markets in more than three dozen states have witnessed housing deflation in double-digits, including hard hit California, Florida, Arizona, Nevada, Michigan and Ohio.

Despite the fall-out of the crisis, however, there are 44 markets forecast in 2010 to appreciate as the U.S. economy begins to heal from the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression. Twelve states are represented on the best housing market list, indicating that stabilizing factors are projected to impact much of the country in the New Year.

However, there’s no shortage of markets that will experience housing deflation in 2010 with sixteen states on the worst 25 market list, including Manhattan, New York projected to be the worst real estate market in the country.

The foreclosure epidemic topped 5-million homes and is forecast to gain momentum through the year as more and more homeowners, who have lost equity in their homes walk away from properties. The foreclosure crisis is impacting the nation’s economy with higher unemployment, and is forecast to affect a total of 17-million homeowners before the crisis ends.

Consumers, bankers, mortgage companies, retail outlets and real estate firms consult Housing Predictor forecasts. Housing Predictor forecasts more than 250 housing markets in all 50 states and offers real estate news and analysis on the housing market at http://www.housingpredictor.com
