Prospects of 3G Services Remain Bright in Turkish Telecom Market

With the mobile market approaching saturation, there remains high growth potential for 3G services in Turkey in the coming years, says RNCOS.

(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 01, 2010 ) New Delhi, India - The Turkish telecommunication sector has been growing at rapid pace on the back of rapid economic growth increasing number of businesses, rising income level and most importantly, government’s initiatives aimed at privatization and liberalization of the market. In a move to further allow intensified competition, Turkish government issued MNP and 3G licenses in the country during late 2008, making the Turkish market an appealing area for future investment. The process ended with the successful allocation of 3G spectrum among the country's three GSM operators: Turkcell, Vodafone and Avea.

According to our latest research report, “Turkey Telecom Sector Forecast to 2012”, the prospects of 3G services remain bright in Turkish telecom market as the mobile market in subscribers’ terms has started tending towards saturation. Mobile subscriber penetration is projected to grow to around 93% by 2013, up from an estimated 86% in 2009. Our report has found that with a relatively high mobile penetration rate and intense competition, the three existing mobile operators should look for offering advanced mobile data services in order to attract customers and generate additional revenues.

Our research has identified numerous factors that will fuel the growth of 3G-service adoption in the country. It has been found that Turkey’s young and business class consumers are eagerly looking for adoption of 3G services; however, the report cautious that the adoption rate will largely depend on a number of critical factors that must be considered for the sound development of 3G telecom market in the country.

This report provides extensive research and rational analysis of the telecom market in Turkey. It gives an overview of the current market trends and developments, substantiating it with market data and prudent analysis. The report gives industry forecast on various telecom segments based on feasible telecom industry environment in Turkey including Fixed-line subscribers and penetration, Mobile subscribers and penetration, Internet and Broadband subscribers and penetration.
