(NASDAQ:DLTR) surged 4.54% to $51.33 after its iscal third-quarter earnings rose a much stronger-than-expected 58% on increased customer traffic and sales. The dollar-store company again raised its fiscal-year forecast, after raising it earlier in August.

American Eagle Outfitters (NYSE:AEO) surged 3.23% to $15.01 after it announced earnings for the third quarter of $0.28 per diluted share and non-GAAP earnings of $0.21 per diluted share. Total sales decreased 1% to $749 million. Profit was inline with analyst expectations, and the company's outlook for 2010 was favorable.

DSW Inc. (NYSE:DSW) climbed 10.56% to $22.71 after its fiscal third-quarter earnings doubled on sharp sales and margin growth as the discount shoe retailer breezed past expectations. That allowed the company to boost its earnings outlook for the year.
