(NYSE:IWA) climbed 26.08% to $16.00 after it said its board approved a $530 million takeover by Windstream Corp. (NYSE:WIN, $9.98, -$0.15, -1.48%). Shareholders in the telecom company, which provides services in Iowa and Minnesota, will get 0.804 share of Windstream stock and $7.90 in cash per each Iowa Telecom share, valuing Iowa Telecom at $16.04, a 26% premium to Monday’s closing price.

DSW Inc. (NYSE:DSW) rose 10.56% to $22.71 after its fiscal third-quarter earnings doubled on sharp sales and margin growth as the discount shoe retailer breezed past expectations. That allowed the company to boost its earnings outlook for the year.

US Airways Group, Inc. (NYSE:LCC) soared 6.45% to $3.30 as it plans to defer 54 new aircraft scheduled for delivery between next year and 2012, until at least 2013, and arranged new aircraft financing, the latest in a series of recent moves to increase its liquidity.
