Manulife Financial Corporation (USA) (NYSE:MFC) decreased 6.36% to end the day at $17.81 after he company announced it will raise 2.5 billion dollars in a common equity bought deal arranged by Scotia Capital and RBC Dominion Securities. Manulife Financial said its capital position is now fortified to the "fortress level" and on a pro-forma basis would put the ratio of minimum continuing capital and surplus requirements at a company record of 256%.
