This comes from their heritage where merchants from all over NW Africa have met for centuries in Jemaa el-Fna Square (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and where we spend time watching the snake charmers and story tellers.”
Fleet is the founder of Canyon Calling Adventures for Women which provides multi-activity getaways especially for women. But Canyon Calling doesn’t stop at activities. Fleet believes travelers cannot connect with the land without connecting with the people. While hiking in the Atlas Mountains, for example, women are encouraged to bring school supplies and toothbrushes for the village children. The tour is also treated to a traditional meal prepared by an English-speaking Moroccan woman in her own home. Travelers also have the benefit of a native guide who teaches them how to bargain for handicrafts at the local bazaars. They’ll also tour the Hassan II Mosque – one of the only Mosques to allow Westerners inside.
