(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 14, 2009 ) Dallas, TX - Liberty Global Inc. (NASDAQ:LBTYA) decreased 7.97% to $21.26 after Liberty Global Inc. said Friday that it will acquire Unitymedia GmbH for around EUR2 billion, plus debt, ending speculation that Germany's second-biggest cable network provider will float its shares. The total cost of the transaction is around EUR3.5 billion, and the takeover is expected to be completed during the first half of 2010, pending regulatory approval, Unitymedia said in a press release.
Air Transport Services Group Inc. (NASDAQ:ATSG) declined 13.04% to $2.60 after the company saw lower third-quarter revenues and profits, the result of main customer DHL ending its domestic shipping operations. ATSG posted third-quarter net income of $3.7 million, or 6 cents per share, compared to $5 million, or 8 cents per share in the year-ago quarter. Revenues dropped to $174.2 million from $239.7 million.
The Talbots, Inc. (NYSE:TLB) plunged 1.93% to $7.63 on 1.73 million shares. The stock hit an intraday high and an intraday low of $7.92 and $7.27 respectively. In the last six months the stock went up over 272%. The Talbots, Inc. is a specialty retailer and direct marketer of women’s apparel, shoes, and accessories. The Company operates stores in the United States and Canada.
