He said it’s the place to be for new bands, so we told him to go for it,” says James Scott, lead vocalist for SYC. “A few days later, he calls me up and tells me to log into our OurStage account. Bring You Back was ranked number 6 out of over 820 songs in the contest standings, number 5 in their ‘New Artists to Watch’ chart, number 8 in the ‘Top Tracks chart’, and number 10 in the ‘Hot New Tracks’ chart. I was blown away, especially considering the quality of the music on that site.”

“There are some absolutely killer bands on OurStage. I can’t believe I haven’t heard of some of this stuff,” offers Deepan Rajah, lead guitarist for State Your Cause. “I think we will definitely hear more from some of these bands, that site gets a lot of traffic, and with some of the contacts we’ve been getting just in the past few days as a result of being on the charts over there, I’d bet a lot of the other bands are seeing doors open, too.”

State Your Cause’s first EP, “escape.rebellion.promise” was produced by Ben Schigel (Drowning Pool, Walls of Jericho), and SYC found themselves opening for Linkin Park as part of the Projekt Revolution tour last year, as a result of winning the “Rock The Revolution” band competition, hosted by MTV2 and The Machine Shop Marketing Group.
