Qualifying Recognised Overseas Pension Schemes (QROPS) are personal pensions established outside of the UK, usually in an offshore centre such as Guernsey or the Isle of Man and recognised by HMRC as meeting certain standards and conditions equivalent to a UK pension. As more people move abroad for their retirement years, QROPS provide them with more investment flexibility and higher tax efficiency than if they were to leave their pension fund in the UK.
