NOVEMBER 7 NEW YORK CITY WORKSHOP TEACHES BUSINESS OWNERS AND PROFESSIONALS HOW TO THINK EFFECTIVELY UNDER PRESSURE

Business owners, managers, engineers and other professionals trying to get the job done with fewer employees and less money get help to concentrate, re-orient, and think through issues in an all-day workshop on "Thinking Tactics" with Jean Moroney.

(EMAILWIRE.COM, October 20, 2009 ) New York City - Businesses across New York City are still recovering from the financial crisis. Business owners, managers, engineers and other professionals who are trying to get the job done with fewer employees and less money. But faced with tough questions, they can be pulled in multiple directions or caught in details. When that happens, they need help to concentrate, re-orient, and think through issues -- so they can get a quality job done, on budget, on schedule. That's what they will learn in the all-day workshop on "Thinking Tactics" with Jean Moroney in midtown on Saturday, November 7, 2009.

In the morning, participants learn tactics to use when they feel like they need several hours of uninterrupted thinking time, but they just can't clear that big a block. Plus they learn to combat overload, confusion, and floundering in their thinking. In the afternoon, participants get a mental toolkit for tackling big, amorphous projects that need to get done with limited amounts of time and money. The tactics help them make difficult time/money/quality tradeoffs and avoid perfectionism.

"In tough times, you can't 'throw money at the problem,'" said Jean Moroney, President of Thinking Directions. "Instead, you have to rely on your brains, and the brains of the other people in the company. But when you're dealing with such difficult problems, it's easy to get stumped. In Thinking Tactics, I teach exactly what to do when you hit mental blocks such as overload or confusion. I teach the tools that leverage your own expertise, so you can get more top-level work done with the same mental effort."

The bottom line? Thinking Tactics helps the bottom line: "This workshop helped me deal with a problem that had been plaguing me for some time. Once I learned about the floundering scenarios, I had a major breakthrough that immediately saved me over $500!" said Francesco Moriconi, the owner of Fitness Analysis and Comprehensive Training.

Thinking Tactics will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Murray Hill Mews, 160 East 38th Street, New York, NY 10016. Cost: $375 per person (includes continental breakfast and sandwich lunch). $50 discount on registration before October 24. Pre-register by November 4 to guarantee a seat.
