Repros Therapeutics (RPRX) is a development stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of oral small molecule drugs to address major unmet medical reproductive needs in the health industry. The Company’s current product pipeline includes its lead drug Proellex for female reproductive health, and Androxal for male reproductive health.

“Proellex is a selective blocker of the progesterone receptor and was previously being developed primarily to treat symptoms associated with fibroids and endometriosis. According to the Company, there is no currently-approved effective long-term drug treatment for uterine fibroids or endometriosis, though in the United States alone, approximately 300,000 women annually undergo a hysterectomy as a result of severe uterine fibroids.
“On October 6, the Company announced the results from an exploratory, efficacy and safety study of Androxal in men who were receiving testosterone replacement treatment for secondary hypogonadism, a condition in which male hormone testosterone goes below the normal level. RPRX said Androxal was successful in restoring normal sperm counts while increasing testosterone levels in the study participants after three and six months of treatment.”
