This 9th Annual RRGCC Rocktoberfest will again feature the Reel Rock Film Tour, climbing competitions, vendor booths, music, food, and clinics taught by professional climbing athletes
(EMAILWIRE.COM, September 22, 2009 ) Frankfort, KY— This October 9th, 10th, and 11th, the RRGCC (Red River Gorge Climbers’ Coalition) will be celebrating its 9th annual Rocktoberfest in Slade, Kentucky. Rocktoberfest is a weekend long rock climbers’ gathering and party that raises money for the the RRGCC’s purchase of the Pendergrass-Murray Recreational Preserve (PMRP), a 750 acre area of land that the RRGCC worked to purchase in 2004 in order to reserve rock climbing access indefinitely.
This 9th Annual RRGCC Rocktoberfest will again feature the Reel Rock Film Tour, climbing competitions, vendor booths, music, food, and clinics taught by professional climbing athletes.
With hundreds of natural standstone arches and massive amounts of sandstone and cliff-lines, the Red River Gorge is one of the world’s top rick climbing destinations. Through their commitment and dedication to the preservation of the sport of climbing in the area, RRGCC has developed relationships with local stakeholders and climbers all over the world to continue sustainable access to this climbers’ paradise. Funds generated by Rocktoberfest each year are critical to the continued preservation of the Pendergrass-Murray Recreational Preserve.
