Shumake Scholarship Relays in April 2010. Robert Shumake, founder of the Shumake Family foundation is looking for volunteers to help with the event. Robert Shumake is a former Detroit all-city track star and founder of the Shumake Scholarship Relays. “Track and field helped me focus on being the best; now I am giving back to the community by helping other teens compete for college scholarships,” said Shumake

Previous robert shumake relays events have received media coverage from NBC, CBS and ABC. Being the largest independently sponsored HS track meet in Michigan, they have received strong community support from political leaders in Detroit and Pontiac. Shumake is committed to helping our youth obtain their dreams with this unique track and field meet that awards winners with medals and trophies and also provides college scholarships to qualified participants.
