New Dallas rock band "Night Gallery" reviewed on InfamousGuitar.com
Night Gallery, a new rock band to hit the scene in Dallas, Texas, has been added to the exclusive list of new talent reviewed in InfamousGuitar.com's "News and Reviews" section.
(EMAILWIRE.COM, August 12, 2009 ) DALLAS, TX Something must be in the water in Northern Texas to explain the onslaught of great rock bands recently coming out of this area. Texas has long been known for spawning successful rockers, and Night Gallery is no exception to the trend.
Calling Grapevine, Texas home, the lightly metal-edged quintet is beginning to make quite a name. With only one demo release currently under their belt, Night Gallery is laying the foundation for a long and successful career.
Led by front man, Patrick "Otter" Gonzalez, Night Gallery knows how to put on a show full of energy and portray a strong commitment to the songs. The band worked with Producer Bart Rose (Toadies) on their current single “She Runs,” to ensure those radio-friendly hooks mainstream rock radio loves so very much. The track builds from quiet verses that explode into loud, gritty choruses with guitar licks that reminisce down more of a hard rock vein. Many softer parts complementarily act as bridges, giving the band some newfound diversity.
In addition to “Otter’s” vocals, the Night Gallery lineup includes Johnny Hand and Jeremy Root wailing away on guitars, Craig James cranking out the low end on bass and Ducky on drums.
What you probably won’t fully appreciate on the first listen is the quality of Ducky’s drumming here; compelling pace and rhythm changes really give “She Runs” the backbone from which the guitars and vocals can build upon.
Going through the other tracks on the Night Gallery myspace page, it becomes apparent that the band didn’t find a formula and just stick with it, plowing out repetitive track after repetitive track. Their formula is to just click, and when these musicians click, they write music. The motley offering showcases the band’s versatility and ability to pull together songs that totally rock as well as more balladic and softer type music.
