Volunteer Expedition Takes Travelers Africa's Remote Caprivi Delta to Study Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs, and More

This volunteer wildlife expedition offers travlers the chance to access their inner scientist as they work side by side with scientists to study wildlife with the goal of creating a sustainable future for both animals and humans.

(EMAILWIRE.COM, July 24, 2009 ) LONGWOOD, FL;—On this wildlife volunteer expedition created by award-winning company Biosphere Expeditions, travelers start in Victoria Falls in Zambia and then journey on to the Caprivi delta of Namibia and Botswana to study lions, leopards, hyenas, and cheetahs and their interactions with the local human population. Working side by side next to real scientists, volunteers will be immersed in the local culture and experience the remote Caprivi delta. The Caprivi delta boasts the same amazing array of African wildlife and fauna as the Okavango or Chobe National Park, but without the crowds.

In fact, it is virtually unexplored and unmapped, and volunteers will track, capture, and relocate lions, leopards, hyenas, and cheetahs in order to study their habits and impacts on human populations and their livestock. Travelers have the opportunity to talk to local people about how predators and people can live side by side an in effort to mitigate human to wildlife conflict and create a sustainable future for both animals and humans. Volunteers on this “adventure with a purpose” will be looked-after and well-cared for as Biosphere Expeditions believes that well fed and comfortable volunteers are the happiest volunteers. Dates: August- November 2009. Cost: $3080 for two weeks including all meals, accommodation, ground transport, all activities.
