(EMAILWIRE.COM, July 17, 2009 ) Dallas, TX –The Parker Country Peach Festival is a gem of the North Texas summer scene…hundreds and hundreds of vendors gathered in the blistering heat for this street festival in beautiful (and historic) downtown Weatherford TX, and tens of thousands of festival-goers made their way there this past Saturday to take in the sights, smells, tastes – and sounds. It’s the sounds we’re going to focus on here, and in particular, the sounds of a new southern-rock trio called MJD Band.

InfamousGuitar.com planned on visiting the peach festival, knowing there would be live music a-plenty, to see if we could dig up any budding guitar players to meet and interview. We had the misfortune to arrive a bit later than we had intended, as the traffic coming into Weatherford that afternoon was pretty intense…but we showed up right in the middle of a rock set being played by three guys. The music caught our attention first – it was a medium-heavy guitar driven song I had never heard before, and the guitar playing didn’t suck a bit…which was impressive enough in the sweltering heat. As we approached, we noticed that the tent they were playing under was full, and there were dozens of people standing outside the tent, baking in the 100 degree Texas sun, all facing the stage and listening in – when there was plenty of shad to be found just a few dozen yards away. Hmm, I thought…perhaps there’s something going on here…
