Jason listed the top five most desirable cities for real estate developers as being Indianapolis, Austin, St. Louis, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh.

When asked what he thought the number one place to invest is, Jason said, “Indianapolis is number one for affordable housing, lower unemployment rates and a lower cost of living. Investors have found great deals on newer homes in Indianapolis as a result of the national housing mortgage meltdown.”

According to Jason, the Austin – Round Rock area in Texas is also another area of interest for real estate developers. “Here is an economic paradox,” said Jason, “High demand and low prices.” The area has lots of available land and plenty of financing for real estate developers. In addition the area regulatory climate there is easy on the builder. Another amazing statistic is the population growth in one particular area, Hutto, just north of Austin. According to the 2000 census, population was 1,200; now it has grown to 17,000.”

The other three areas Jason mentioned, St. Louis, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh, all have relatively cheap housing, food, utilities, transportation and health care compared to cities in the costal regions.
