The Problem is not the Clothes Dryer; The Dryer Ducts are Clogged with Lint, said Dryer Vent Cleaning and Repair Expert in Frankfort, KY

All appliances require proper maintenance to work safely and efficiently; unfortunately, few people think of their clothes dryer as a potential thr

(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 10, 2009 ) Louisville, KY – Keith O’Loane, owner of Dryer Vent Wizard in Kentucky, recently got a call from a friend who just purchased a new dryer. “I just installed a new clothes dryer and it runs very hot,” his friend complained.

Keith had a good idea what the problem was going to be as he headed over to take a look. “The first thing I noticed was the dryer vent hose was the old vinyl type and there was way too much of it. The excess tubing was just crammed behind the dryer and coiled on the floor,” said Keith. “Just this alone is a major problem. Your dryer cannot efficiently vent hot, steamy air from your dryer through this coiled up mess. Now, let’s look inside.”

When Keith removed the hose from the dryer, it was full of lint. “I can’t believe you reattached this old thing to your new dryer!” Keith exclaimed. “We’re going to throw this out and start over with a new system.”

Keith went to his van and brought in the parts needed to properly vent the dryer. “Your dryer ducts should be semi-rigid metal, not plastic or vinyl,” said Keith. “They should also be the proper length with no excess material. The shorter and straighter, the better for air-flow needed to take heat, moisture and lint from your dryer drum as your laundry dries.”

Keith explained how the old system was a serious fire hazard and how the newer system would be much more efficient, saving his friend money on energy while preventing a dryer fire. “I think I just learned an expensive lesson,” said his friend. “I probably didn’t even need to by a new dryer.”

“It could have been much worse,” said Keith. “I’m glad you called me before it became necessary to call the fire department! Dryer lint is great fuel for a fire that spreads very quickly; you could have lost your home or your family.”
