SEELEY LAKE, Mt—This month marks a decade of operations for Western Montana’s Confluence Rafting & Expeditions. To celebrate the occasion, the outfitter’s owners are throwing a season-long birthday party. But Charlee and Dave won’t be the ones receiving the gifts. Instead their lucky customers will reap the rewards.

Starting in May and running throughout the Montana whitewater rafting season, anyone who brings their birthday party to the river goes for free. That’s right. The birthday boy or girl gets a complimentary river adventure to celebrate their birthday as well as Confluence Rafting’s special milestone. At the end of a wild run the party will celebrate with a homemade birthday cake from the kitchen of Charlee Hanna. Anyone who’s had the joy of tasting one of Charlee Hanna’s confections knows it will be one sweet treat.

People of all ages, from every walk of life come each season to raft the whitewaters of Blackfoot, Bitterroot, and Clark Fork rivers. Trips range in duration from a few hours to two-day excursions with overnight camping. Confluence Rafting Expeditions boasts the most experienced and safety conscious crews, utilizing the best equipment available in the industry.

No matter the river or its tempo on any given day, rafting the river with the Hanna’s is always one fun ride! The 360 mile Clark Fork River makes its way through Missoula, where the river rolls easy for a tranquil float trips. But as it narrows to slip through The Alberton Gorge rafters encounter a series of rapids progressing from easy to heart-pounding fun. Runs on the Blackfoot River are limited to May and June with full day excursions including shore side lunch. In May, the river can be testy. In June, a scenic river tour focuses on birds, wildlife and the rich history of the Blackfoot first explored by Lewis & Clark. Folks can opt for a peaceful two hour float through the heart of downtown Missoula. Or relax and dine al fresca on a dinner float. Guests choose the river (Blackfoot, Bitterroot or Clark Fork) as well the entire menu.
