(EMAILWIRE.COM, April 24, 2009 ) Chicago, IL - We all know how annoying it can be when your cell phone malfunctions. To add to that annoyance, many cell phone users take their phone into their service provider, only to be informed that the device’s warranty is voided! The phone hasn’t been crunched, cracked, or dunked in liquid, so what’s the deal? It’s all the fault of the tell-all red dot on the back of the cell phone, beneath its battery cover, whose purpose it is to indicate alleged water damage.
Mobile phone users across the country continue to experience the frustration of the fallible snitching technology, and no one is exempt from its harmful potential. Sam Chapman, CEO of Empower Public Relations and previously-devoted BlackBerry user, wants to bring this issue to the public’s attention. Recently, Chapman was denied the validity of his cell phone’s warranty from T-Mobile because the device’s “red dot” was activated, although the phone had never been in direct contact with fluid and was only two days old.”
Chapman states, “This technology is clearly not fail-safe. I shouldn’t have to argue with anyone about the fact that my BlackBerry’s warranty was voided on account of faulty technology. As a professional in an industry where honest company practices result in the ultimate success of a business, it’s safe to say that cell phone service providers are encouraging distrust among their consumer base. After asking around the office, 7 out of 11 (roughly 60%) of our employees have a red dot on their phone and are sure of it never being exposed to water.”
Please contact me to speak with Sam Chapman about the “curse of the ‘Red Dot’.”
Thanks,
