Worth, TX -- Saint Francis Animal Rescue Center, located in Rock Hill, S.C., which is about a half-hour south of Charlotte, N.C., is facing a severe setback after it was broken into and vandalized last month -- without help, the shelter might have to consider permanently closing its bashed-in doors.

"With the down economy, people have cut back on charitable giving as well as adopting new pets," says Andrekopoulos. But, shelters like the Saint Francis Animal Rescue Center need to be kept open as we do not have quality centers like this one across the country. Most of our animal rescue centers in the United States have some type of "destroy plan" in place. This center strives to keep animals cage-free and not destroy them.
