Survey Shows Economy Will Improve
A new survey shows Americans are confident the U.S. economy is on the mend with nearly two out of three saying President Obama's stimulus packages will improve the economy.
(EMAILWIRE.COM, April 14, 2009 ) Destin, Florida -- Nearly 2 out of 3 surveyed say President Barack Obama’s stimulus packages will help the U.S. economy get out of its economic mess, according to a new opinion poll by Headline Press dot com.
The new survey shows that 64% of those surveyed believe the new economic stimulus packages passed by Congress to re-ignite lending and to help the economy will be successful. Only 36% said it would not. The large margin shows that Americans still strongly have confidence in Obama, who took office in late January. The president’s approval ranking is also close to the number that expressed approval for the stimulus package.
The financial crisis has triggered business failures, an epidemic of foreclosures and hampered lending for businesses, homeowners and developed a platform for lawmakers to correct changes they have made to deregulate mortgage lending they adopted in the last decade, sending the U.S. economy into the worst economic crisis since at least the Great Depression.
The survey was conducted during the Obama Administration’s efforts to get Congress to pass both of its major economic stimulus packages.

However, more than two out of three surveyed also believe the nation is headed for an economic depression in more than a handful of polls conducted on the nation’s economy.
