The U.S. House approved a huge public lands bill that included legislation to create a 517,000-acre wilderness area in Idaho's southwest corner, the first selected since 1980. Hidden in the corner of Idaho, Nevada, and Oregon are the last remote wilderness river canyons in the lower 48, and award-winning outfitter Far and Away Adventures has been taking visitors to these remote canyons since 1982.

The Jarbidge/Bruneau and Owyhee rivers are considered by many to be a “best kept secret” in rafting. They are untamed and remote, and travelers who have the privilege to visit are not likely to see other tourists (or know other tourists who have previously visited).
