Rafting Camp - Families Learn to Raft and Camp in One Night
Welcome to Raft Camp. Raft Camp is an easy concept for Colorado families to get away, out of the city, for a great overnight rafting experience camping right alongside the river.
(EMAILWIRE.COM, March 27, 2009 ) BUENA VISTA, Colo. –All the hustle and bustle of work plus managing a family can be tiresome. Especially as your kids age and become more active in their own activities, it becomes more difficult to get away for your summer vacation.
Welcome to Raft Camp. Raft Camp is an easy concept for Colorado families to get away, out of the city, for a great overnight rafting experience camping right alongside the river. Rapids are suitable for beginners, ages 6 and up, and the experienced rafter.
What is even better is that all meals, camping equipment, safety gear and whitewater guide are included in the camp, so all you need to bring is your family and a change of clothes.
River Runners, one of the most respected whitewater adventure companies in Colorado since 1972, is sponsoring Raft Camp every Saturday this summer to bring Colorado families together in a unique outdoor setting.
Raft Camp will begin on Saturday afternoons, so families can take a leisurely drive from the city, maybe squeeze in horseback or biking adventure along the way to River Runners Riverside Resort, just south of Buena Vista.
Once families arrive in the afternoon, staff and other Raft Camp members will welcome them as they pack their overnight dry bags. Dry bags are provided for each family to ensure their personal belongings remain dry while roaring through the rapids that afternoon.
After rolling through famous rapids like Zoom Flume and Raft Ripper in Browns Canyon, dinner will be catered by your whitewater guides, giving families time to set-up their own camps and get acquainted with other families with riverside games.
Relaxing alongside the riverbank can take the city stress right out of you. The only electronic device you may want to bring will be a camera to capture the frequent canyon wildlife and river habitants that come out to play.
With the sunrise, campers awake to fresh coffee, juice and tea as they begin to pack-up camp. Before leaving camp, a hearty breakfast is prepared for campers by their whitewater guides. Then, get ready to complete the full Browns Canyon tour with rapids like Twin Falls and Sidels Suckhole.
