Whilst Brits spend much of their time complaining about the weather, many of them do like their four distinct seasons. Ontario offers proper hot, humid summers and freezing winters – temperatures can fall as low as minus 26C in the dead of winter.

There is also easy access to America from Ontario and thus the manufacturing industry in the province is the largest and most profitable.

Based mainly in the Golden Horseshoe region, the largest industrialised area in Canada, Ontario's manufacturing industry relies heavily on the production of motor vehicles and machinery, with a large number of the population employed within the car industry.

The capital city is central to Canada’s economy as it is home to the country’s financial services and banking and IT industry.

It is also a hub for Canada’s booming tourist industry, on which millions is spent on marketing campaigns each year. Last year saw a marketing spend of more than £17 million.

Toronto is also packed with world-class cultural entertainment, including theatre, sporting opportunities, museums, galleries and shops, plus heritage buildings and a wide range of bars and restaurants.

The far north and west of Ontario are pure wilderness and you can even expect to see black bears roaming in their natural habitat. So watch out!
