(EMAILWIRE.COM, March 17, 2009 ) LARKSPUR, CA — Vintage and classic vehicle owners are invited to apply for entry to the First Annual Marin Sonoma Concours d’Elegance, held May 17, 10:00am-4:00pm, at the Marin County Fairgrounds, Marin Civic Center, San Rafael. The proceeds benefit Hospice By The Bay, the non-profit, regional Bay Area hospice and palliative care provider. The Concours display will include 180 entrant vehicles in 18 classes, with a special exhibit of automobiles manufactured in 1929.

The application fee is $60, or free for those who are accepted to the 1929 exhibit. Acceptance includes two adult admissions, a special gift, commemorative program and two continental breakfasts. Entry fee is returned if a vehicle isn’t accepted. At the Marin Fairgrounds site, thousands of guests will stroll the rolling lawns around the lagoon, as they view the exceptional vintage and classic vehicles, cutting-edge alternative energy and green vehicles such as the Fisker-Karma, , as well as celebrity cars including Marin rockers Sammy Hagar Mustang, Metallica’s James Hetfield’s Ferrari, and Journey’s Neil Schon’s Lamborghini, plus music, food, wine and family entertainment. Tickets are: $15 general, $10 seniors (over 65), and age 15 and under free when accompanied by an adult.


Vintage car collector Charlie Goodman, a Marin resident and chairman of this charity event to benefit Hospice By The Bay, says "This is going to be a very upscale car show," he said. "There hasn't been anything like this in Marin or Sonoma County for about five years.” Price Family Dealerships is the Presenting Sponsor of the event.
