To date, NO response has been received from the Village of Anmore regarding ANY FIRE / EMERGENCY RESPONSE plan for the proposed Heritage Woods Middle School in Anmore.

Just to be CRYSTAL CLEAR…. This post is not about the our local Fire Fighters! It’s about the Village of Anmore exploring the requirements for Fire protection and emergency response if the proposed Heritage Woods Middle School is built within the Village. We support and respect the men and women who serve the public as fire fighters and have friends on the department.

* Anmore has a volunteer fire department.

RESPONSE TIME & LEVEL OF SERVICE:

* If an alarm is pulled and it’s a 2 alarm fire, where are the two fire trucks going to come from?

* How long will it take to get them up the hill and down the smaller roads?

* What if they encounter another car on the road, will they be able to get by?

* Will the Village of Anmore be the only jurisdiction to pay this cost?

* Does the Village of Anmore have the money to do this?

* Will “WE” Anmore require a full time Fire Department vs volunteer?

* Will Port Moody or Coquitlam Fire & Rescue provide better protection for our kids?

* Many unanswered questions for me to a topic that seems so critical.

* Am I way off with my concern for safety? Are you confident and satisfied?

If not why not ASK?

Maybe for many who have commented so far, public safety isn’t an important factor to consider when choosing a School site location to build a new Middle School to send our children?
