Bill Bartmann Interview Series – Part 7 – How Mental Health Affects Success in Business
Mental health is a guide to happiness and success; developing personal mental health and strength is a high priority
(EMAILWIRE.COM, February 20, 2009 ) Tulsa, OK – The interview series with Bill Bartmann continues as he discusses self-development and mental health. Bill Bartmann said, “Like your body, your brain also needs to be fed. Mental health comes from thoughts and intentions; evil thoughts lead to sicknesses of the mind. The satisfaction one derives from doing something mean to “get even” with someone who has done them wrong will ultimately hurt them. True happiness is only possible if you choose to help others, forgive others and ignore those who have bad intentions.”
Bill Bartmann is a self-made billionaire who has had more than his share of unfortunate events in his life, but he hasn’t allowed them to keep him down. Bill Bartmann bounces back whenever life’s challenges obstruct the path to his goals. When Bill Bartmann found out that a trusted business partner embezzled millions of dollars from his $5 Billion company, leading to his being accused of fraud and then filing bankruptcy, he focused on rebuilding his reputation and his own life. Bill Bartmann spent $4.5 Million to defend himself and clear his name.
“I’m not bitter because look at what I still have,” he says, referring to not only money in the bank, but also his wife, two daughters and two grand-kids—whom he brings up on stage at his presentations. “This is what success is really about,” he tells audiences at his Billionaire Business School seminars, which drew 280,000 attendees in 2007.
Bill Bartmann offered tips for improving and maintaining one’s mental health. He talked about learning from failure without being hard on yourself, taking time out to enjoy yourself, walking outside for fresh air and exercise, welcoming challenges and facing them head on, try to see the good in everything and surround yourself with others who are happy and confident.
As the interview came to an end, Bill Bartmann said, “Believe in yourself, think of your past accomplishments and how they have brought you closer to your goals. When things go wrong, don’t waste time fretting or blaming others; focus on how to overcome and conquer. Always remember, laughter is the best medicine; smile and laugh more, act happy and others around you will be happy. If you cannot see the good in something or there is not good there, walk away.”
Bill Bartmann has experienced the failure of businesses and he has learned a lot about the mistakes and pitfalls that lead to business failure. Though his experience, Bill Bartmann developed a system that has helped thousands of entrepreneurs reach their goals by strengthening their business even during times of economic uncertainty.
