(EMAILWIRE.COM, February 19, 2009 ) Grants Pass, Ore.—When life gets emotionally overwhelming, tragedy strikes, or mental exhaustion consumes, sometimes the best solution is to make time for some peace and quiet in the great outdoors. The Rogue River National Recreation Trail from Grave Creek to Foster Bar is in the heart of the National Wild and Scenic Rogue River Canyon, and is almost untouched by human hand. This 44-mile trail that was originally built by miners and houses 5 historic lodges along the trail that were built in the early 1900s and can only be accessed by foot or raft, offering the perfect wilderness escape for those who seek peace, rest, solitude, and beauty.

Departing from Grants Pass, Oregon, Rogue Wilderness Adventures takes hikers on 10-14 mile daily hikes while the staff will carries guest bags, supplies, and a favorite case of wine for relaxing under the Oregon stars after a full day of activity. Hikers will be amazed at the breathtaking scenery that awaits them as they wind above the river of this 110-year old trail. Each night, participants arrive at a historic lodge and relax in front of the fire as the lodge staff prepares a wonderful meal, leaving time for reflection and rejuvenation. Accommodation is in cabins that sleep two people each with private bathrooms, and serene nights spent in the wilderness will be conducive to deep and all-encompassing relaxation.

These hikes are adventures in solitude—they give the visitor a new perspective as they witness the beauty of the river corridor and enjoy the benefits of the preservation of this area. Hikers have the chance to learn about the history of this part of the country while enjoying the peace and quiet, beautiful scenery, opportunities to spot wildlife like bears, deer, and eagles, and the chance to unplug from life’s worries and spend time healing. When the legs get rubbery from hiking too much, or a change in scenery is needed, the supply boats pick up the weary hikers so that they can relax, and enjoy a peaceful float trip down the beautiful Rogue River.

All trips are four days/three nights and include guides, equipment, lodging, meals, and transportation to and from the trail. Trip dates are May 7, 2009, May 26, 2009 and September 20, 2009. Trip minimum is two hikers. Cost is $949 per person plus government fees.
