Farm by the River has been passed down from generation to generation for over 200 years. Starting as an original land grant for settling and cultivating from King George III of England, The Farm was transformed from a thriving dairy farm to this quaint Bed and Breakfast. It has nine guest rooms each uniquely decorated in a classic New England style. The 70 acre farm still holds its natural scenic beauty of forest and pasture land with panoramic mountain views as it follows along the Saco River on the edge of the White Mountain National Forest.
The stable staff works year round caring for the 22 resident horses and continually working with them to provide a safe and fun experience for everyone. Three different types of horsemanship lessons are offered. They offer hourly lessons, which are perfect for new riders or those just looking to improve their skills. The four week group lesson is one hour and 15 minutes long per week and is offered during early summer through late fall. And they offer horsemanship workshop getaways, which are intensive five day workshops perfect for a horseback riding vacation.
