Bill Bartmann Interview Series – Part 3 – Bill Bartmann Reviews the Results of Measuring Success
Entrepreneurs who feel they are not measuring up need to look at how their own self-image measures up
(EMAILWIRE.COM, February 09, 2009 ) Tulsa, OK – Bill Bartmann, a self-made billionaire, continues a series of interviews where he has been expressing his belief that success is driven by one’s own self-image. Bill said, “Self image is defined as how you see yourself, both physically and as to who you are. Self-esteem directly affects one’s self-image.”
Bill Bartmann believes self-image plays a major role in being successful. He explained, “If you think you are going to fail, or if you think you can’t accomplish something, you will not be successful. The better your self-image; the higher your self-esteem, the better you are able to face challenges and cope with problems. Your self-image affects how you cope, your reactions and your ability to reach goals.”
Bill Bartmann shared some tips on measuring self-esteem as he explained, “Those who measure high in self-esteem are more likely to be successful. Most very wealthy, successful people I know have a high self-esteem. There are ten phrases that I use to measure self-esteem; the more that one can say are 100% true about themselves, the higher their self-esteem and the greater their chances are of being successful.”
The ten phrases Bill Bartmann shared were:
• I accept myself as I am; I am happy with myself
• I feel valued and needed; I deserve love and respect
• I enjoy socializing; I make friends easily
• I can openly admit my mistakes and have no problem accepting criticism
• I don’t hide my feelings; I speak up for myself, my views and my opinions
• I don’t worry about what others think; don’t need their approval to feel good
• I’m a happy person
• I can express myself without feeling guilty
• I don’t feel others are more fortunate than me
• I have nothing to hide; I can be myself
Bill Bartmann has had his share of ups and downs in his life; he has felt depressed, hopeless, like he has failed. He wouldn’t be human if he never experienced these feelings. The difference with Bill Bartmann was that he was able to redirect his thinking, lose the negative attitude and bounce back.
