(EMAILWIRE.COM, February 06, 2009 ) Henderson, NV -- The staff and instructors at the ACT ( theact.tv ) are predicting that Steve Martin's second time around portraying Inspector Clouseau will come to be known as good family entertainment in 2009. Martin's role relies heavily on the audience's affection for the bumbling policeman and it hits the mark.

While some Hollywood critics expected more sophisticated humor from seasoned pros Steve Martin, John Cleese and Lily Tomlin, the ACT staff say the director was smart to make good use of Martin's ability with physical comedy. For example, the burning down of the same restaurant in Rome, twice, is hilarious.

The movie's plot concerns the theft of priceless treasures from the world's museums by a mysterious thief called "The Tornado" who has come out of retirement. Anticipating that the Pink Panther diamond will be next, the French authorities force Chief Inspector Dreyfus (Cleese) to assign Clouseau (Martin) to a dream team of detectives from each country to catch the thief. Just as he is about to set off to Tokyo, the Pink Panther is stolen and Clouseau returns to central Paris. The investigation takes the actors to Rome and back to Paris.

A great new addition to the movie sequel is Lily Tomlin, teamed for the first time with Martin since 1984's "All Of Me," as a political correctness trainer in the police department. Directed by Harald Zwart, the main cast includes: Steve Martin, Jean Reno, Emily Mortimer, Andy Garcia, Alfred Molina, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Lily Tomlin, John Cleese, Yuki Matsuzaki, Jeremy Irons, and Johnny Hallyday.

Like it or despise it, ACT predicts this sequel will do well at the box office.
