Matthias said to never stop moving. He explained that it takes patience and follow-through to reach end goals. “Once you have found a project that works, keep at it; stopping one project to take on another will hold you back. You must stay focused and dedicated to what you are doing in order to find success. Remember, in the story of the tortoise and the hare, the tortoise moved slowly, but he never gave up, he didn’t take breaks and play around, like the hare. He stayed focused on his goal and he won the race.

Another good point Matthias made is to make good use of free time. Matthias explained that free time can include spending time with family or taking care of your health by going to the gym. It can also include reading up on industry research while waiting for your plane flight or plotting your next business move while you wait for an appointment. Matthias said, “Using your free time effectively makes it possible for you to complete your to-do list and have time for recreation.

Matthias discussed goal setting, explaining that you must have the end in mind before you start, so you will know where you are going and you will know when your get there. “If your goal is long-term, set a milestone goal at the start of each project and develop strategies for what you want to achieve.”

Matthias made one more final point as the interview was concluded. He said, “Balance your 80/20. It’s no secret that 80% of business comes from 20% of clients. The reverse is also true. Evaluate your projects and look at what is making the profit. Change up your strategies to be more efficient and stop wasting time with that which is not profitable.
