Rob Nani Speaks to Real Estate Investors about Working in Real Estate Partnerships with Mentors
New people entering the real estate investing world are more successful if they get started with a mentor and work some real estate transactions within a partnership
(EMAILWIRE.COM, December 12, 2008 ) Detroit, MI -- Rob Nani, a real estate mentor, recently spoke at a workshop for new investors. He talked about beginning a real estate investing career with a mentor who will work with you in a real estate partnership. Rob explained, “Working with a mentor benefits the new investor by saving him from making the same common mistakes made by many. A real estate partnership allows for a split on everything, including profit and risk.”
One of the members of the group asked a great question; he asked how one should go about finding a real estate partner or mentor. Rob recommended joining a local real estate investors association to meet others who have been successful in real estate investing. Rob explained, “An investor’s association group usually meets once a month and they bring in national speakers. They also provide for networking time so that everyone has the opportunity to meet each other and discuss what they are doing and how it is working.
Rob explained how one should talk to many investors about what they are doing to help decide the area he wants to go into. Rob said, “There are many choices including commercial real estate, residential properties, strictly foreclosures, vacant land, to name a few. Maybe you’re interested in wholesaling real estate or buying to hold for cash flow. There are many ways to invest; all include a certain degree of management work. Ask yourself, ‘would you like to be a silent partner or do you prefer to be very active in the business? Do you take big risks or are you more conservative?”
Rob shared tips on what to look for in a mentor and what questions to ask. He discussed the many different types of real estate investing transactions and how some work better than others in certain circumstances. Rob said, “Determining how you will structure your deal is another wealth of information you can learn about by working with an experienced mentor.”
Rob covered other points as well, including setting up the partnership properly, to reduce personal liability risk and protect your assets. “There is so much to be learned; a real estate partnership allows you to learn and invest at the same time, reducing liability and risk. A good mentor will explain everything as you go along,” Rob concluded.
Rob Nani is a real estate investor with over 18 years active experience. Rob mentors new investors and trains them to work the market according to our current economic climate. A good real estate partnership will enable you to enter the world of real estate investing and increase your chances of success.
