Delux Nightclub to host “A Taste of Delray”, their 1st Annual Fundraiser for Glycogen Storage Disease Research Thursday December 4, 2008 6pm – 10pm
As little as 25 years ago, a child born with GSD1 had very little chance of survival beyond one or two years. Tremendous strides have been made since then, but great challenges still exist. Currently there is no cure for GSD1 and the condition is managed
(EMAILWIRE.COM, December 03, 2008 ) West Palm Beach, FL - To help support this research, Delux Nightclub is hosting “A Taste of Delray”, an evening of great food, fine wine, and inspiring art. The event is a cocktail and wine reception featuring cuisine from five of Delray's premier restaurants and an array of art pieces from the area's best artists. Throughout the evening there will be a raffle, silent auction, and a wheel of chance--all supporting this very important cause. This special event will is $75 per person. Please help support all of these children living with this disease by joining us on Thursday, December 4th from 6pm to 10 pm.
For Dave Robinson of Delux Nightclub, this fundraiser is near and dear to his heart. “Our daughter Zoey was diagnosed in 2006 with GSD1. We are extremely grateful that there is an organization that is actively trying to support and fund research for a CURE for our daughter’s disease. This a very exciting time for GSD1 research. Scientists, doctors, and researchers are working diligently, not only to find a cure, but also to make daily life for GSD1 patients more manageable along the way. Fortunately, The Children’s Fund for GSD Research has been able to fund many of these studies, and they are beginning to achieve success.”
