(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 12, 2008 ) Hong Kong – CSA International, a leading certification and testing organization, has today officially opened its first China laboratory in the city of Guangzhou. The new, state-of-the-art facility will enable customers to test and certify their products locally and obtain the relevant CSA International certification marks for exporting their products into the North American market and worldwide. As a global leader in testing and certification, CSA International certification marks appear on billions of qualified products worldwide.

Located in the Guangzhou Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, the new lab is operated by the CCIC-CSA International Certification Company Limited, a joint venture between CSA International and the China Certification and Inspection Group (CCIC).

“This impressive laboratory signifies 11 years of close partnership and deep friendship with CCIC and is the first CSA International laboratory in the People’s Republic of China,” said Randall W. Ltd. “The lab will position CSA International and CCIC to be the certification partner of choice for clients by providing timely, high-quality, and cost-effective services for a variety of products destined for the global marketplace.”

Government officials, executives and staff from CSA International and CCIC, and more than 100 guests attended the opening ceremony of the lab which spans over 3,000 sq m, and is equipped with some of the most advanced equipment including testing stations for gas, plumbing and electrical products, and safety footwear in the industry. In total, there are several hundred types of advanced product testing within the laboratory.

Testing of gas equipment includes barbeque grills, patio heaters, outdoor gas fireplaces, camp stoves and camp lights. Plumbing products testing includes items such as ceramic, porcelain-enamelled steel, stainless steel and plastic plumbing fixtures and fittings. Testing of electrical goods includes IT and AV appliances, luminaries and decorative lightings, household cooking appliances, motor-operated appliances, fans and ventilators, tools and wiring devices.
