IPhone 6 Release Date Leaked
According to a survey of 4109 US consumers the iPhone 6 is the most anticipated Apple smartphone ever, with interest easily outstripping that of the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5.
The iPhone 6 release date will be in 2014 and it's looking likely that we'll see it in September. More precisely, momentum has now gathered pace around September 9, an idle Tuesday at the start of the month.
There's one thing that's for certain when it comes to the iPhone 6 - it won't be cheap. Apple's legacy is a long line of premium devices sporting premium price tags and that trend can be expected to continue with the iPhone 6. With a larger screen, new glass covering the front and possibly even a new, more impressive, material used in construction, its almost inevitable that the price will be lifted.
Both the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhones will have an increased resolution due to their larger screens. Along with a larger screen, the iPhone 6 may feature a durable sapphire display. The larger 5.5-inch iPhone 6 might also incorporate Optical Image Stabilization as a differentiating feature. It is also possible that the larger iPhone 6 will be the only model with a 128GB storage capacity.
Apple currently uses durable and damage resistant Corning Gorilla Glass for its iPhones, but reports have suggested that the company could switch to sapphire crystal for future displays.
Sapphire crystal, which is currently used for small iPhone components like the camera lens and the home button of the iPhone 5s, has historically been prohibitively expensive to produce in larger quantities, but Apple has recently partnered with GT Advanced to ramp up sapphire production.
Initial rumours indicated the iPhone 6 might have a curved display, but more recent rumours suggest the device will continue to have a flat screen much like the iPhone 5s. It may, however, have a slightly tapered glass front panel that allows the display to transition seamlessly into the sides.
Apple's iOS updates generally happen along iPhone launches, which means the iPhone 6 is likely to ship with iOS 8.
Along with tools to allow for seamless transitions of tasks between iPhones, iPads, and Macs, iOS 8 also includes improved Message management tools, interactive notifications, a revamped "QuickType" keyboard, iCloud Drive access, and an all new health and fitness aggregation app, called simply "Health."
Until recently the idea of having an iPhone with NFC technology was desirable, but ultimately wishful thinking. However, it looks as if the tide may have changed with sources now suggesting that the iPhone 6 could feature some sort of NFC chip. Reports released recently state Apple is filing for a new patent covering NFC, that could be used for mobile payments and also for iPhones to talk to each other. Analysts suggest that Apple will be the force that drives NFC's widespread commercial adoption for mobile payments.
Other sources in the phone accessory market say the the industry has been gearing up for this launch for most of this year. CEO Bruce Stanley, from SpartanFive says that they will have stocks of cases and the new sports armband for the iPhone 6 on shelves by the September launch date. "Everyone is looking forward to this launch and hopefully some of the rumours are true and we see some real advances in tech with this model. The 5 series was more of an upgrade than a new version"
The new sports armband from SpartanFive is geared up to fit the new larger screen of the iPhone 6 but still retains all of the features from the previous model. It uses only top grade lycra covered neoprene with the now standard longer arm strap which has proved to be extremely popular according to Stanley.
SpartanFive is a company currently involved in the phone accessory market whose focus is on providing customers with top quality premium products at an affordable price.
